Osamu Shimomura, Martin Chalfie and Roger Tsien have received the Nobel Prize for the discovery and application in cell biology of the green fluorescent protein and its family members. NEW: Especially for preclinical research in animal models we have generated the following human melanoma lines exhibiting far-red FP635 fluorescence: A-375 human melanoma Mel-Juso metastasizing human melanoma MeWo human melanoma All cells show bright red fluorescence and grow well after inoculation into immunodeficient nude mice. Using appropriate equipment, subsequently formed tumors, their development and eventual distribution in the organism can be followed in the living animal over time. |
